What is your machine's OEE?

OEE says how much of a machine's time made good parts. Put in your own numbers. The math runs as you type. You don't sign up or give an email.

One machine

For one machine, over a shift, a week or a month. Leave out breaks and times with no work planned. Changeovers stay in.

hrs

Every stop counts. That means breakdowns, waits for parts and changeovers.

That leaves 35 hours of run time.

min

Its best rate for a full hour. Not your average. Not your quote rate.

Ran more than one job? Do one job at a time.

All of them, good and bad. Count a fixed part once.

Good the first time. A part you had to fix is not good here.

Your OEE

75.0%

Running: 87.5%

It ran 35 of the 40 hours.

Speed: 88.6%

It made 620 parts. At full speed it would have made 700.

Good parts: 96.8%

600 of the 620 were good.

600 good parts out of 800 it could make. That is 75.0%.

At 100%, it would make 800 good parts in 40 hours. It made 600. That is 200 parts short.

Lost to stops: 100 parts

Lost to running slow or short stops: 80 parts

Lost to bad parts: 20 parts

Start here: stops. They cost you 100 parts.

Want this for up to 10 machines?

Our Downtime & OEE Tracker is a spreadsheet. Log each stop in it. Pick any dates, like last week. It does this math for you.

Get the tracker, $12

It works in Excel 2019 and up, and in Google Sheets. $12, one time. Gumroad sends it the minute you pay.

Need your minutes stopped? Our free downtime sheet adds them up by machine. We email it to you.

How to read your number

Start with the biggest of the three losses. That is where the parts went.

Over 100% on speed or good parts? Your parts an hour or your counts are off. Check those first.

Compare it to your own last month, not a number you saw online. The trend is what matters.

What did those stops cost? Try the downtime cost calculator.
